Most herbs are not recommended during pregnancy. But you could try Garlic:
Often called 'nature's antibiotic', this sure cure for a number of ailments, is effective against bacterial vaginosis too, because of its strong antibacterial properties. It can be taken both orally or vaginally. A peeled whole garlic clove, wrapped in gauze, can be inserted into the vagina. It can also be used as douches or in suppository form. This herb also prevents bacterial vaginosis recurrence.
When it comes to finding a cure for bacterial vaginosis are over the counter medicines your best bet. Many women when faced with the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis choose not to see a doctor due the embarrassment they may suffer. I would always recommend seeing a doctor in the first instant, its always a good idea to get these things checked over and there really is nothing to be embarrassed about. There may be a more serious problem that your doctor will be able to see. If you are diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis you will more than likely prescribed a course of antibiotics.
For a lot of women antibiotics is not the answer. over the counter medicines are available but again for a lot of women find these creams and potions just do not work for them. Or they will clear the bacterial vaginosis only for a short period. Recurrent bacterial vaginosis is very common and unless you sort out the root cause of your BV it may continue to return indefinitely. This recurrent bacterial vaginosis is the most taumatic for sufferers.
The best way to deal with bacterial vaginosis is to find a safe and natural cure, easier said than done. Well not really, being in balance with your own body and treating BV naturally can happen in as little as 3 days. If a natural path is one you would like to take with your BV you should click on the following link. CURE BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS NATURALLY IN AS LITTLE AS 3 DAYS.

If you are one of those women who has been diagnosed with Bacterial Vaginosis and antibiotics did not work, there are a few natural remedies that you may try. Another way to try to get rid of Bacterial Vaginosis is by Douching. There are some women who find buying douches embarrassing so use about a tablespoon of vinegar and some boric acid with warm water and create your own homemade douche. Try taking in natural supplements such as Vitamins, A, C, D and E. Folic Acid can be a great help when you have BV, simply take in 1200 mcg a day for about 5 days and you will notice the condition getting better everyday. You may have to try a few to find one or maybe two that work well together can help you clear up BV. But only try these remedies for about a week, if the symptoms do not get any better, you are going to have to see your doctor.

Welll it really is not as simple as that there are many things that will help clear you of Bacterial Vaginosis for good. OK yes a prescribed course of antibiotics will clear BV but it will not stop it returning especially if you are doing the same things you were before the antibiotics.
You need something to fight the cause of the BV not just the symptoms and this could be as simple as changing the way you wash. Personal hygiene should be very high that goes with out saying but during any out breaks of bacterial vaginosis you should take extra care, do not over wash the vagina though as this can do as much damage as good. Try to avoid scented soaps or new products not tried before.
The best vaginosis cure is actually a combination of many different things that when put together builds up your bodies own defense against the infection. Another big recommendation from me is cotton undies. OK so your frilly synthetic pants may look more sexy but believe me you will notice the difference straight away with cotton as it allows the vagina to breath.

I have battled continuously with horrible BV ever since I met my partner 10 months ago. In the past I have taken to using vaginal deodorants and wipes and constantly washing to mask the smell – but any one who has ever suffered with BV will know that this just makes it 10 times worse.
My nurse told me that the PH of my boyfriends sperm played havoc with my PH and resulted in me having BV – I was left feeling depressed and hopeless because after each round of anti-biotics I had a normal smelling vagina for about a week before the horrible fish smell returned.
This time however when I noticed it returning I was careful not to wash my foo foo constantly and not to leave sperm in there over night – which tends to make it worse !!
I tried diluting abit of water with plain vinegar and washing my foo with it with a sponge after my bath – and its seemed to help alot with the smell.
Is this home remedy all in my head or can vinegar actually be a cure for BV? If it is then its the answer to my prayers !!
Any one else had any affective home remedies for BV or has experience of vinegar being helpful Id like to hear from you please !!
Hhmmm…you could try using plain yogurt. Just put it all up in there and let it go to work.
Hahaha you called it a “foo”. HA-larious.

Buying Pads really late at Acme. A tampon is a plug of cotton or other absorbent material inserted into a body cavity or wound to absorb bodily fluid. The most common type in daily use (and the topic of the remainder of this article) is a usually disposable plug that is designed to be inserted into the vagina during menstruation to absorb the flow of blood. The use of these devices has occasionally caused infection and (rarely) death (see Toxic shock syndrome). In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates tampons as medical devices. Tampons come in various sizes, which are related to their absorbency ratings and packaging.
The shape of all tampons is basically the same; long rounded cylinders. Tampons sold in the United States are made of cotton, rayon, or a blend of the two. Tampons are sold individually wrapped to keep them clean, although they are not sterile, nor are tampon companies required by law to list the ingredients in them. They have a string for ease of removal, and may be packaged inside an applicator to aid insertion.
Tampon applicators may be made of plastic or cardboard, and are similar in design to a syringe. The applicator consists of a bigger tube and a narrower tube. The bigger tube has a smooth surface and a round end for easier insertion. Some applicators have a star shape opening at the round end, others are open ended. The tampon itself rests inside the bigger tube, near the open end. The narrower tube is nested inside the other end of the bigger tube. The open end of the bigger tube is placed and held in the vagina, then the narrower tube is pushed into the bigger tube (typically using a finger) pushing the tampon through and into the vagina. If not inserted at a 45 degree angle it can cause discomfort and make removal difficult.
Digital or non-applicator tampons are tampons sold without applicators; these are simply unwrapped and pushed into the vagina with the fingers. Stick tampons are also available.
Probiotic tampons are available in Europe. These tampons can help prevent or cure vaginal infections, like Bacterial Vaginosis and/ or Candida, by strengthening the natural microbiotic vaginal flora. These tampons include probiotics, or three strains of lactic acid bacteria, which naturally occur in the healthy vagina. The vaginal flora of a healthy woman is dominated by lactic acid bacteria, which produce lactic acid as part of their metabolism. The lactic acid makes the vagina acidic, about pH 3.8 to 4.2. Most pathogens do not thrive in such an acidic environment. Therefore, lactic acid bacteria are part of the human female’s first line of defense against infection.
It is usually not necessary to remove a tampon before urinating or having a bowel movement. ampons are a menstrual device worn completely inside the vaginal canal with the exception of the string. This makes them suitable for wear during activities such as swimming. Menstrual blood is not exposed to the air with the use of tampons, so there is limited odor. There is no way to see that a woman is using a tampon when she is clothed, unlike sanitary napkins, which have outlines that can sometimes be seen through fabric. As a disposable product, there is no need to wash anything in between use. Info from Wikapedia
